I have changed my name just in case she's a mumsnetter.

Long story but the short version. DH's mum married DH's dad they had 2 children divorced 10 years later. DH's dad remarried and about 2 years ago my FIL got divorced from his second wife. They had had 2 children together. He was ill/disabled. He recently died.

DH had a phone call from her yesterday asking him to not mention in his Eulogy that he's his son because her 2 children don't know that DH and his brother exist!!!!! WHAT!!!!

Bollocks to that - he was your dh's dad as well! Won't they ask who is this man giving an eulogy to our dad? How old are they? Why on earth don't they know about their siblings - it's not as if their dad had an affair etc.

I have to say, its not your DH's problem that she has lied to her children. His father has died and he has the right to say whatever he wants in the eulogy.

what age are the second children.?
She must tell them. Your Dh should not have to lie to cover up her own dishonesty.

Agree with the other posters - this is OUTRAGEOUS. So she's a bizarre liar, doesn't mean your dh has to collude with her fantasy life.

The children are 10 and 8 i think - strangely we weren't even told she was pregnany the second time!! DH's uncle sent us a christmas letter including the exciting news!!

She is just ...................ahhhhhhhhhh!

I don't think DH will do it, he's going to stand up and say my Dad was a greta bloke, he had 4 children and 3 grandchildren!

Oh should add that when i got pregnant with my first, She was the only person not to congratulate us in fact said we were too young ect. Its because she didn't want to have to admit that her DH was a grandfather!!

the thing is if she does tell the kids i doubt it will be THE BIG DEAL she thinks it is.
They will probably just accept it. However it would be better coming out befor the funeral for everyone concerned.

BTW is this perhaps grief related insanity?or is she always like this?
