Does anyone have a BMW?

What are they like?

They seems to be going for under a thousand pounds for a car less than ten years old on ebay and with a fairly low mileage (96000).

Are they expensive to insure? Do they guzzle gas?

You have to type very slowly hen explaining about cars to me.

We've had a couple of BMW's. Lovely cars to drive and not too heavy on the juice. Insurance was reasonable too, though we are in low-risk categories (ie old and boring!). Repairs are expensive, though, and the timing chain needs to be replaced regularly. They are also rubbish in snow!

Good cars on the whole, but they vary hugely from bog standard to top of the range sports, IFYKWIM? Have a look at What car (?or sim) which lists them all out and gives marks out of 5 for safety/petrol consumption etc.
