usually when my pc is starting to go slowly the best thing to do is restart it, i also have a very good program called window washer, it deletes all those unnessisary (spelling) files that are just wasting space on your pc, go to any search engine and search window washer, install that, it should make a little difference.

hope i have been of some help

Sarah

nightowl · 04/05/2004 02:12

i wouldnt know to be honest, i never have. there is a thing at the top of the page that says contact another talker. my email has been really playing up though...ive been having to use another address lately. if u try and contact me and it doesnt come through just put a thread on here and i'll try something else. im always on here late anyway.

ok, well i will give an e-mail address that is due to be cut off soon, because i have changed serive provider. [email protected] email me on that, and I will get back to you as soon as I talk to my dad, he will almost definetly have some solution. well i better get going now talk to you soon.

our friend of ours always 'defrags' the disc but not sure how ....i can find out if you want

katierocket · 04/05/2004 08:52

disc defrag might help
go to 'program' 'accessories' 'system tools' then run disc defragmenter

it can really help if you've never done it.
how old is the PC?
do you have antivirus software on it?

Grommit · 04/05/2004 09:45

you could also go into 'explorer' or 'My Computer' and look at the size of your files - you may have some high graphics files taking up alot of space

SenoraPostrophe · 04/05/2004 10:01

You can't defrag until you've cleared some space.

Has your computer crashed lately? If so, it may have dumped memory files on your machine. These can be a bit hard to find, but a file search for something called "Watson" (I think it's Dr Watson) may help. If you find it, delete that file - it'll be big.
