How do I dry out dd's shoes ?

Went to view a house today and dd managed to "fall" in their pond Her newish leather/nubuck shoes are soaked through . Have padded them out with newspaper and put outside , any ideas to salvage them please .

Do they stink? If so, would be worth shampooing them before you dry them.

V. important to dry very gently and slowly so they don't go hard. You need an Aga!

Or do you have any NikWax products for cleaning them and conditioning them?

aargh the house had an Aga !!! No they don't stink so hopefully will be ok .

I did spray them with protector stuff before she wore them - maybe that will help now ?

Will you be putting in offer? You could cope with all manner of falling in pond incidents with an Aga at the ready. Agas are life savers, dontcha know??

i stuff shoes with news paper then leave in airing cupboard for a day or so

lol nannyme . The property is ,er shall we say, not without its problems ie. structural on a listed building and in need of renovation. Not sure we're up to the task tbh but Aga alone is v tempting !!

I'll stick them in the btotom of our airing cupboard - good idea (had forgotten we'd got one).

Keep changing the paper once it gets damp to absorb more moisture.
