Saw something in the papers this week about a competition to win someone's house. Tickets cost £1. Can anyone remember anything about this? I can't find the web site.

Didn't see it or hear about it but i would love to enter.

it was in a magazine, womans, or womans own and the tickets cost £100, which the lady is using to pay to a charity and buy a new house

mieow · 02/05/2004 19:16

Right its in womans owns and the website is here

mieow · 02/05/2004 19:17

not sure if that worked so it is www.hughes-syndrome.org

Hi mieow - thanks for that, but it's a different competition, not for charity, and tickets are only £1.

I heard about it on the news willow2 but can't remember what the website was called something like bymyhouse.com??? Tickets were £1 so I thought about it but wonder about the expenses etc if you do win though why I should worry myself unnecessarily heaven only knows

amess · 03/05/2004 10:43

sorry I meant buymyhouse.com but just tried it and neither spelling worked but it was something as straightforward as that let me know if you find it first

willow2 · 04/05/2004 10:38

Hiya, just found it - www.houseforapound.com - does occur to me that it could be a marvellous sting, but only £1 so might be worth a go!

You can even sell your house on here. They reckon that by advertising it for £1 you will get more than the market value from competition entries. If not you don't have to go through with it. What do you reckon?
