Fillyjonk won a Nobel Prize for writing a computer game for her Spectrum.

Let us all reminisce.

Why didn't anyone tell me

Pacman

FillyjonkTheFireEater · 08/11/2006 22:01

mwa ha ha ha...

hub2dee · 08/11/2006 22:02

I remember stretching up the shelf in WH Smith and doing inane progs that would write my name all over the screen.

And the Spectrum power supplies that would die regularly,

And Manic Minor, and Asteroid, and what was that game on the BBC ? EVERYONE played it... in space... docking a space station thingy....

Commodores could do good music, but let's face it they sucked.

I loved my Smartbomb button on that Spectrum game when you fly along screen....

I tried to get good on Flight Simulator but it was a bit complicated LOL.

OMG OMG OMG. your the only other person i have ever spoken to who knows what manic minor is!!

oh you have made my day. i LOVED manic minor. i actually went into gamestation recently and bought a copy of R-type for the GBA and it reminded me of manic minor, so i asked if they did it on the GBA or PS2....the geeky spotty kid that worked there looked at me as if i had just asked for a unicorn. no idea what i was going on about.

we had a commodor 64 as well, with the little tape deck at the side.

FillyjonkTheFireEater · 08/11/2006 22:08

Any one remember the ZX81? It had an AMAZING space ship game that looked like this:

^

and every time a lorry went past the house the power pack fell off.

coppertop · 08/11/2006 22:14

Ah the days of writing crappy little programs in BASIC.

10 PRINT "God this is a crappy little program"

20 GOTO 10

Those were the days.........

And waiting forever (well it felt like it) for the games in the cassette player to load up for the Speccy 128k.....

hub2dee · 08/11/2006 22:14

The Manic Miner I remember wasn't as crap as this , surely.

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 08/11/2006 22:14

I had an Acorn Electron when I was about eight.

I used to love playing Boxer, Hopper (Acorn's Frogger), Arcadians (I was genius at this) and Business Games (wtf?!).

hunkermunker · 08/11/2006 22:15

Then we had a Spectrum and I played Paperboy and Head Over Heels (the people who wrote HOH were on drugs)

hub2dee · 08/11/2006 22:15

128K ? Get you....

SPACE INVADERS.

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 08/11/2006 22:16

I had a hand-held Donkey Kong - I got it for my 9th birthday. Well, I say had...I still have it! PMSL!

rustybear · 08/11/2006 22:16
