My Mum is making a sampler for me for ds1 (he's only 7!!) and she has put on it "Thursdays child has far to go." That is what it says on the instructions but I'm right in thinking it should be Thursday's, aren't I? The more I think about it the less sure I am, but it is "the child belonging to Thursday" isn't it?

yes, you're right MM

tammybear · 30/04/2004 20:52

i think it's thursdays, as if its "'s" that means is. I think. Does that make sense? Sorry. Im not really brainy. Better check with other mumnetters

Caribbeanqueen · 30/04/2004 20:52

Definitely need the apostrophe there MM

Lisa78 · 30/04/2004 20:53

Still saying it should be apostrophe s! 's is for when something belongs to it, such as Lisa's book. It would only be Thursdays, if you were saying, "we go there on Thursdays"

SenoraPostrophe · 30/04/2004 20:56

yes - Thursday´s child.
