I rang up about the 4 bed house this morning and they have finally admitted that it is empty.
She said it needs alot of work but it will be offered within the next couple of days.
I asked her if she could have a look at my file and see if she thought i would at least be considered for it. She then said "Is that Miss " and i said "yes".
She said, i am already being considered for it.

She did stress that the fact i'm being considered doesn't mean i will get it, but i'm definatly in the running.
I think it should be a good sign that she knew who i was without me even telling her. My name must of been in the air, which is what i wanted.

Hopefully i should know if i've got it before i look at the maisonette on tuesday. If i don't know by then i'll have to stall the council.

If i haven't heard anything by monday then i will ring them on tuesday morning.

Have to say i have already cried about it, and my hands are shaking that much i can hardley type. At least if i don't get it thiough, it will be easier to make a desicion about the maisonette, as that will be my only option.

So lots of finger crossing and other good lucky producing activities please. Prayers would be good too

Have just been and brought a big tin of magnolia paint as there are loads of squares of different colours in several places throughout the flat.
I'm just going to make it look half decent at least. Part om me thinks 'why the hell should i' as it wasn't in good condition when they gave it to me, but i'm not risking anything.

Couldn't resist looking at wallpaper and stuff in B&Q, dd's were picking colours for their room too.
If i don't get it, may all those involoved at Sanctuary Housing have bad luck for ever

oo get cracking with that paintbrush tonight.

Nutcracker · 04/05/2004 18:45

Also need to go round picking stickers off all the doors (thanks to dd's).

Anything else ??
My friend reckons that when she had hers inspected , they only stuck their heads around the doors to check the rooms were decent and that was it.

Meant to say, i haven't told my DD's, haven't really told anyone, just incase.
Dd's want sexy pink and purple for their room

Am confused Nutty, have you definately got the house or is it still a definate maybe?

misdee · 04/05/2004 18:59

all that did at my inspection, was jot down that the stair treads were going to be replaced and the hallway plaster needed patching(down on the councils lists of jobs, but got it patched myself the other day as there is looooooong list for plastering) and also to sort out the wall in the kitchen where we ripped out and old hot air system, which will now be finished by the endof the week, so i can call them back when its all done and get back on that list. with regards to the other wlal they just check everything is ok, and no structual repairs or major works needs doing.

this place is looking better than when i moved in too, was very tatty.

misdee · 04/05/2004 19:00

wlal=rooms, no idea whats going on with my typing

Nutcracker · 04/05/2004 19:08

LIsa, when i rang this morning they said "subject to my rent being up to date and my property being inspected, then they will not move down the list to offer it to anyone else."

No they have not definatly said that i have got it but they've said everything but.
Think i would sue them for unessercary suffering if they pulled out now.

So why don't the lazy t*s get their fingers out and get the inspection done NOW!!!! I can't wait much longer, the suspense is killing me

Nutcracker · 04/05/2004 19:30

ROFL Lisa, couldn't agree more though

The estates manager has been in the flat several times and knows us well so he can vouch for us too. I think they are just stalling to be honest, don't know why though, which worries me abit.
At the end of the day if i don't get it i probably wouldn't have a leg to stand on cos they didn't actually say the words "We will be offering you 25 Blah blah blah".

Any news ????

SoupDragon · 05/05/2004 10:17

Aaaagh!! Thought this was news.

Nutty, can you promise to start a new thread when you find out? I'm not sure the Mumsnet Collective can cope with the strain of seeing this thread pop up to the top of the list Every time I see it I go "Oooh! Oooh! Oh..." It;s a good job I'm in the privacy of my own home really.

Twinkie · 05/05/2004 10:18
