Lets get Nutty a house .................OMG, lots of luck needed, quick

I rang up about the 4 bed house this morning and they have finally admitted that it is empty.
She said it needs alot of work but it will be offered within the next couple of days.
I asked her if she could have a look at my file and see if she thought i would at least be considered for it. She then said "Is that Miss " and i said "yes".
She said, i am already being considered for it.

She did stress that the fact i'm being considered doesn't mean i will get it, but i'm definatly in the running.
I think it should be a good sign that she knew who i was without me even telling her. My name must of been in the air, which is what i wanted.

Hopefully i should know if i've got it before i look at the maisonette on tuesday. If i don't know by then i'll have to stall the council.

If i haven't heard anything by monday then i will ring them on tuesday morning.

Have to say i have already cried about it, and my hands are shaking that much i can hardley type. At least if i don't get it thiough, it will be easier to make a desicion about the maisonette, as that will be my only option.

So lots of finger crossing and other good lucky producing activities please. Prayers would be good too

God the waiting is killing me already. I am so weak and impatient.

I am really trying not to think about it at all, but it's not working.

Dp was moaning that he won't be pleased if they have got our hopes up for nothing.
I just said, look at it this way, this time last week we had no offers at all. Now we are in the running for a 4 bed house and have the maisonette to fall back on if we don't get it.

Seems like a miracle to me. Someone somwhere must of sensed how close to the edge i was.

Freckle - Yes, the house is on the estate we live on now, just over the road and round the corner a bit.

I haven't been too bad today. I think if i hadn't got the maisonette offer to fall back on then i would be more worried.

I have tried to disect the conversation that i had with the girl who told me i was being considered for it. There are things that she said that make me think i will be offered it, but then there are things she said that could mean they are just considering me to shut me up.

Roll on tuesday morning.

OMG

I've just rung them, and had a rather criptic conversation.

I explained who i was , and that i was being considered for the house and she went to ask someone.
She came back and said that they were in the process of checking to see if i had any rent arrears (which i don't) and needed a surveyor to come and check our flat (they always do this incase you've done anything to it you shouldn't of, which we haven't).
I said i knew that both of those things will come back o.k so what then. She said well we won't move on to the next person on the list unless there is a problem with the above.
I still couldn't get them to say for definate that it's mine though. I asked when i will know and they said once they've got a surveyor out and they have submitted their report then that will be it.

Somebody pinch me, i must be dreaming.
I still keep thinking that they are suddenly going to realise that i've only got 3 kids not 4.
My mom thinks that the fact that dp's daughter stays of a weekend may of swung it.

I don't know what do you reckon, does it sound like it's mine ??

I'm too scared to say anything, Nutty! Fingers crossed and holding my breath though! (Oh please let it be....). How long will the surveyor take? (Read that, as how long will the torture last?)

i have to agree Nutty - they have basically said that if the two things they are checking are fine (which you say they are..) then they will have no need to move on to the net person on the list.....................

Surveyor is usually on the state on a thursday but she occasionally comes out other days. If it's the usual one, then i know her, and she knows all of the probs we've had so it will be fine.

I feel so shakey, have managed not to cry yet.
I'm still going to view the maisonette though just incase.

I am going to ring them again tommorow. I don't think they'll mind they know how desperate i am.
It will be like getting a brand new house, cos they have got to completly refurb it as far as i know. A couple of months for us to save for flooring and bits and bobs too.

Please please please let this be true
