which is the real birth certificate???

am trying to be organised and sending off for my child benefit!...

which birth cert should i be sening... i.e. the short one or the long one with akk the mother and father details... am pretty sure that it's the short one... but just want to check!

Either will do. I'd send off the short one though, in case it gets lost, as it's cheaper to replace!

At least, I definitely sent off the long one and they definitely pay me child benefit, so I did something right somewhere...

I don;t think it matters. They just want proof that the child exists. You don;t have to have the long one. They give you the short one as a matter of course

duh? on the actual form requesting the cert they've said it can be the short or full cert....
