Just had a call from someone called 'Deano' -(yeah like I would speak to someone who introduced themselves as Deano!! from the Mobile Advice Centre - he said he was phoning on behalf of O2 to see if I was due for an upgrade and asked me all kinds of questions about my telephone usage - halfway through I stopped him cause my other line was ringing and decided to give O2 a quick ring to see if this guy was genuine - apparently he was not and what they do is set you up a new account and start billing you - be careful all!!

Honestly, the number of mobile scams now is ridiculous - and whats with all the bloody text messages offering me all sorts of shite deals, its like text spam

Hey twinkie - I've had a guy called Deano call me professing he was from O2 and offering me upgrade etc. He asked for all my details and when I wouldn't give him my dob he got really shirty. Couldn't see why he wanted my dob so refused to give it out. He said unless I gave it to him I couldn't have the new phone. "Fine, yours is the bigger loss I can go to the carphone warehouse and get it if I want" and put the phone down.

have had people from o2 calling me too, loads of times!! wonder if they were genuine??!!
do they invoice you with the bill?
