no, but i think women would eventually harden to it and become like men

RobertCatesby · 03/11/2006 21:58

Do you? really?
Do you think they would need to show how strong they are by invading other lands and suppressing the masses. DOn't women show their strengths in other ways?

yes, but what would happen to all the men?

juuule · 03/11/2006 22:03

Probably. I'm sure there are just as many power-mad women around as there are men.

RobertCatesby · 03/11/2006 22:04

Why aren't they in power then?

because they are too intelligent to get invoved with it all

I often wonder why we go to war. Why can't they all sit down and talk it through or maybe a nice game of chess or some such to sort it all out!?

Difficult one,I mean look at Thatcher. How about Condoleeza Rice, although not in charge, shes pretty high up in the Bush administration. Both exemplify fairly hawklike behaviour.

moondog · 03/11/2006 22:26

They're not in charge becaouse someone has to look after the kids that's why.

I think women would be more for the one to one kind of thing...i.e. the politicians themselfs fgoing into the ring an fighting it out...well...I know I think that is the ideal, would save some lifes right....!
I also think women can be great leaders and think it is very sad if those female leaders have to sort of suppress their femaleness or worse their mothering feelings (towards their Kids, now)....
I do however believe that war is a thing of nature, and probably will, sadly more so in the future, as it is a way of "sorting out the weakest etc...., i.e the strongest, cleverest survives, both good and "breedable" qualities!
Watched yesterday a Documnetary programme about a african society, and gosh thye had the ideal life and happiness, living for the day and be happy and caring for eachother and share everything, and getting by by whatever was on offer...sadly..then this society has to face the westernilisation of their country, and they can either go with it or try to go against it, and against it would certainly mean survival of only a few....maybe westernilisation is not a good thing, and maybe technology etc...would be better be without...but then. is it...I don't know, and am not sure myself!

Power corrupts. If women were powerful (i.e. over men, not equal) they (in general) would quite probably be corrupt.

And I'm a feminist. I'm just not entirely convinced that a matriarchy would of necessity be benign.

Ooh and Elizabeth 1,I know it was centuries ago and she had the "divine right" but she was a tough old cookie.
