OK, silly question time ... does anyone know anything about 1940s hairstyles?

I've googled and come up with lots of styles that young women might have had in the mid-40s, but I need some ideas of styles that older ladies (in their late 40s/early 50s) might have worn. Needs to suit shoulder-length (but thin and fine) hair and needs to be easy to do!

Anyone have any ideas please?

In the 40s there was not the same division between women of 20 and women of 40-50 you would find in the fifties and sixties.
