Please tell me this will be sorted!!!!.... a banking glitch!

My fault really and need some reassurance!!!

paid in some cheques at the post office (bank with smile) and i comepletely totalled the amount incorrectly... thought they might fiogure this out when it got to the bank but checked my satement just now and it has credited my account with the incorrect total (my stupid one!!!)...

please tell me this has happenned to you and they just sort it out nice and quickly with no fuss... and not that they say it's your fault... tuff titties!!!!

Hi bea, I did the same at a Halifax cash till. They figured it out and sent me a letter ( didn't charge me for it ) telling me they would credit my account with the correct amount not what I had said. If i were you I would e-mail them and put it in normal letter too. Doesn't say much for their systems does it , that they didn't spot it. May be they would have noticed if the mistake had been in your favour, say you said you had cheques for 6 trillion pounds, or maybe not . Smile bank you said didn't you....

call them and say you think the total is wrong - don't need to mention your mistake.

They should be able to check it from the individual cheques that were cleared.

hoorah! good old smile... they adjusted the payment and all is well in the bank of bea!
