Oh jesus fancy. Didnt know it can blind you. And she has got it in her eye...

Can it be contagious even if youve had chicken pox?

Knowing her she will press on and have the party (50 odd people, mostly elderly) so as not to let people down.

We are supposedly going with ds and my stepsons, who are flying in from spain especially. Fuck. I dont want any of the kids to get it.

Ds has had the chicken pox jab only, in spain. Dont know if it gives full protection against shingles?

pffft. It's Sunday - engineering innit? I come into Kings Cross this time - that's why I'm planning on walking it. (Agreed - Liverpool Street would be a bit, erm. enthusiastic.)

Re. shingles, my DF had it on his head - no obvious spots or anything but hsi head was very tender, and he had a constant headache for weeks. DM had it along one side. I think you can catch chickenpox from someone with shingles, but you can't catch shingles.

Have done first draft of presentation.

FancyFancy · 09/04/2015 23:20

Thanks for the recommendation comtess, I shall bear that in mind. Cheap & cheerful is good in my book Grin

Che Santi is a bit hairy for my liking too sparks, but he can always shave. Skinny I don't have a problem with & as for the un-Santi like voice, well (at the risk of sounding like liv ), that's easily sorted with a gag.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 09/04/2015 23:27

It's OK Fancy - that was years ago, he is Aramis & only Aramis right now. Or himself. And either of those incarnations can whisper that fluent Spanish in my ear & well....Game Over.

FancyFancy · 09/04/2015 23:30

madame, you can't catch shingles from anyone else, but you can catch chicken pox from someone with shingles if you have contact with their blisters.

Has she been to the doctor? Not sure if it's too late for the anti-virals or not, but they would be able to advise. If you have it in the eye it doesn't necessarily cause eyesight problems, so it's not inevitable.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/04/2015 23:32

Ok, night all.

MadamedeChevreuse · 09/04/2015 23:33

MadamedeChevreuse · 09/04/2015 23:35

Thanks fancy. Yes, shes been to gp and is on anti virals. Tbh we saw her on sunday so not much point in worrying about catching it now...

FancyFancy · 09/04/2015 23:42

Oh that's good about the anti-virals madame.

Could be a good excuse for the grandkids to not kiss granny!

ChaiseLounger · 10/04/2015 07:49

Loving the Santi Spanish clip and the Che clips.

Last year, all at the same time, Dh's mum has shingles on her legs; my school friend (40) and a colleague(40) also both had it, both all over their body, and all 3 were VERY unwell.

FurFoxAke · 10/04/2015 08:12

Morning all!
It's been a while, but...yeah, life. Trying to finish things I'm making and do the family thing and washing. Wink
You are right that you can catch chicken pox from a shingled Hmm person but you can't catch shingles. It's just something you have lying dormant after chicken pox that may or may not flare up.
I know this because when I was pregnant with dd the woman who DH stayed with in the week had shingles and she asked her dr if he should stay with her in case it was passed onto me.
At least that's the story I was told. Arf.

I watched most of captain America last night. Bucky; would. Wink although I prefer his look as the winter soldier. You know, strapped to the chair, ready.
mouse your Toddler sounds like mine, I was joined by Spider-Man in the night. Grin

Mooooorrrnnniinnnnng wenches. Sunny again here!

DH had shingles on his back when one of the DC was fairly newborn. He wasn't poorly though luckily and GP was very reassuring. Funny how people react differently the same illness/virus isn't it? Caught the end of a programme on BBC1 last night about medicines and that mentioned it.

Helen - well done on getting the presentation ready.

Che Santi? Fine with me.

Yy to mesh bag for washing bras in. I have a set of three from Lakeland which are very good.

Baddz · 10/04/2015 08:42

Well.
I am starting my diet today.
I have put on more than half a stone since xmas.
Bluergh.
Yes to mesh bag for bras...u used to hand wash mine but ffs, who's got the time?
Getting my hair done today thank fuck. My head looks like a badgers arse :(
Lovely day again.
DH taking the dc out for the day tomorrow so I am going to get the new iron out.
Yeah baby.

LetUsPrey · 10/04/2015 08:55

That reminds me I need to book in to get my hair cut. Mine's currently leaning towards 1970s/1980s female newsreader style.

New iron - excellent. I'm still struggling to find a new cover for my ironing board.

I preferred Captain America Grin

The look that passes between them in the last gif

Helen, Yes, KX to Eus seems much more sensible. Liv St to Eus is not a pleasant walky walk even at the best of times. I was meaning the engineering works between citynearyou and cityabitsouthof yourorisitatown. Don't know where you're off to oop north.

I walked 6 1/2 miles yesterday of section one of the London Loop. Having originally started nearer to home on one of the later sections of the walk, just to be awkward. Seems like 6-7 miles is about my limit . Had to put on quite a lot of suncream, and cursed leaving my sunhat at home.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/04/2015 09:04

Morning all. I got my smart work suit out last night to check it still fits ok. Badders - it needs ironing Shock Grin
Lets just hope I don't burn a hole in it like I did years ago when I was ironing a skirt in preparation for an interview!

Baddz · 10/04/2015 09:09

Oooh hello foxy!
I didn't see you there!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 10/04/2015 09:11

Morning Smile

Sitting here waiting for IT to sort out a computer connection thingy.

Foxy Nice to see you here again Smile

Bads I bet you look hot as hell with your badgers arse hairdo Wink

And it's FRIIDDDAAYYYYY Wine

BloodyElkFire · 10/04/2015 09:30

Morning.

There was absolutely no reason whatsoever in ep2.5, for this scene

BloodyElkFire · 10/04/2015 09:34

It's very benevolent of the writers.

Thank you kindly Adrian

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 10/04/2015 09:49

Morning.

An observation LetUs about your gif & that last look. It's him removing her hand there. And it was her who came on to him in the Convent & her who went all flirty in the tent. Poor Aramis - he didn't stand a chance! Now I love Queenie but quite frankly that is DISCCCUSSSSTING behaviour. PFFT.

Cinnamoncookie · 10/04/2015 09:54

You know Sparkle, I don't blame Queenie at all. Yep, she did come on to Aramis big time, but if your life depended on your producing an heir pronto, and your spouse was a bit lacking in that department, wouldn't you look around for a useful substitute ? And if he happens to be Hawt as Hell in the bargain, so much the better !

FancyFancy · 10/04/2015 10:00

Morning everyone & a special welcome back wave to foxy

badders a review will be needed of the new iron Grin

But can you blame Queenie sparks? Several times he's given her The Stare, so she didn't stand a chance either!
