Buyng / registering a domain name

I am trying to set up a family website - does anyone know how I go about it?

Firstly, how do I register / buy my domain name?

Secondly, do you need to buy "space"? I want to have loads of family photos on the site so will that need more space or is it an unlimited thing?

Not sure if you need to have an AOL account for this, or if you can sign up using an AOL Instant Messenger screenname (which would be free).

I use easily.co.uk and they've been great.

Hmmm, not sure if I'm any the wiser. Does a group allow you to set up a website that would be www.pennies.com (for e.g.) or do you have to have a [email protected] (or whatever it is). I am looking for the former one.

satine, I've looked at that and it seems good, and I see how it works. What if easily.co.uk went out of business though? Part of the reason for doing this is to try and safeguard pur most precious photos so am worried I would lose it all if the company I got the name from went bust IYSWIM
