I have applied for a job as a multi drop driver, it turns out it is self employed at £5.75 an hour and no milage or petrol allowance. Trips could be up to 40 miles round, probably average 30 miles a day over 3 hours. Its dropping those book boxes off.

So the question is will it be worth my while, I am already registered as self employed and pay self employed NI, and car as business insurrance. Its more the petrol costs and wear and tear on the car I expected to be covered, but as I said no milage paid

Sounds like someone's looking for a mug. 30 miles at the Inland Revenue approved rate of 40 p per mile - your costs would be as much as you were earning.

Sorry - hope you have better luck with something else!

Thanks I know its not good I suppose, I just wanted someone to agree with me . I have done jobs before that involved driving and got at least 30p a mile. Even just working out the fuel costs it would take perhaps a £5 off a 3 hour shift so end up with about £13. I also suspect they will pay how many hours they think it should take rather than how long it actually takes you on the day.
