Some one from the US is wanting to send postal order or cheque in dollars. Anyone cashed these in a UK account? Will I get charged.

we use auctionpix, you send them the money order and they send you a cheque.

How much does it cost?

Will my UK bank not accept a cheque in dollars?

i think the bank charges were really high, that's why we used auctionchex, they didn't charge much at all

What do they charge then, site doesn't look very reassuring TBH, how does it work if the cheque is in my name.

i know i did find the site a bit confusing! we sent off two us money orders and they sent cheques back really quickly. have a look around the site. is this for a ebay sale?

Skribble · 30/10/2006 21:27

Yes its their first purchase so I am trying to get them to use paypal, it costs me not them and is a lot easier but she didn't realise she had bought outwith the US apparently. I am quite happy to be patient but I don't want it to cost me a fortune to cash the cheque.

we used it a while back and wouldn't have if they'd charged loads i think it was a tiny amount. if you go onto the site you can see what the exchange rate is etc.
