I will look and try to find one, NQC

if not, could you knit me one?

foundintranslation · 30/10/2006 21:45

I am in a very car-obsessed part of Germany. Was in a shop a while ago and saw a choice of about three 'Congratulations on your new car' designs. (Gold lettering and pictures of cars done in pastels). WTF?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 30/10/2006 21:45

Twig - you're as miserable as feck

!!!Happy Birthday!!!

Start another thread like this and I will petition for tickers......

NotQuiteCockney · 30/10/2006 21:46

FIT, I'm sure you can get those in the UK. I'll check.

(I had a good chat about the differences between Germany and the UK today ... well, we all had a rant about how overdressed German children are, actually, but still ...)

foundintranslation · 30/10/2006 21:47

IKWYM about the overdressing NQC. A typical argument between dh and me when we are all going out:

me: 'but he'll overheat'
dh: 'but he'll freeze'

NotQuiteCockney · 30/10/2006 21:49

Hmm, it was a brit married to a German who raised the subject today.

Whenever I meet up with a local German mum, her kids look like they're dressed for an artic expedition, and mine look like they're off to the beach.

It probably doesn't help that I think English kids are overdressed!

Mercy · 30/10/2006 21:51

lol at cod is odd! Surely not.

I for one am very pleased to see I share my birthday with someone else who is also super intelligent and a totally fab person like what I am.

DontBurnMeImJustATwiglett · 01/11/2006 12:29

Rhubarb · 01/11/2006 20:45

Thank feck no-one knows mine! It's cringeworthy stuff at the best of times!

I upset a load of work colleagues one year when I refused to tell them when my birthday as I was buggered if I was going to be humilated with a bloody office card and as for bringing in sweets for them all - bog off! They were most upset!

Ellbell · 01/11/2006 20:54

But ever since I found out that I share a birthday with Greensleeves, I have been spookily agreeing with her about everything...

... including cards on this thread. My parents are very particular about cards... which is a shame, as I rarely remember to get them one. Them sending a card (thoughtfully two days early in case of postal delays) is the only way that me and dh ever remember when our wedding anniversary is!

FIT the car one is just weird! LOL!

(Took dd1 to Italy when she was 5 months old and people were stopping us in the street and saying "Isn't she cold?". It was about 25 degrees!)

foundintranslation · 01/11/2006 20:55

Hi Ellbell
