We were thinking of spending the day in London tomorrow . As ds is studying the Vikings at the moment we had thought of taking him to see a related exhibition but can't find one ! Does the British Museum have anything from that period(website suggests not) ?

Hi LizS
The British Museum has a room full of Viking stuff, including a huge shield from the Sutton Hoo burial ship.
They also do a children's trail on the Vikings which my ds and a friend did last year - and enjoyed a lot.

hmm we did the trail but tbh it was a bit disappointing especially as the Roman Britain and Iron Age galleries were shut . British Museum is something of an anachronism but we hadn't been for eons. ds enjoyed it though and it was at least free !
