I've just had a letter from a debt collection agency demanding payment for a Dynorod bill incurred on 25/7/03. A few points:

  1. This is the first I've heard of the debt being overdue
  2. I paid them in full on the day by cheque
  3. They cashed the cheque on 30/7/03

Guess who won't be using Dynorod EVER again. Do you think I'll get an apology from them? No, me neither Actually, I think I might send them a bill for the time/phone calls it's taken me to sort it out with the agency.

Write to Dynorod and suggest you are considering suing them for libel as they have indicated to a third party (the debt collection agency) that you are not prompt in paying your debts. Send them a bill for your time and phone calls, etc., plus an extra bit for inconvenience. You have nothing to lose!

Freckle - you are my kind of woman! go on SoupDragon, do it!

Yes do it! They've done more than "indicate": tell them you will sue for defamation!

gothicmama · 27/04/2004 13:16

Yes you def need to persue this and check credit rating dynorod may need to help you change it if there is a negative

Oh, I fully intend to write them a letter of complaint together with an invoice. I don't think it will affect my credit rating at this point - AOL did this to us once and the debt agency assured us it had no effect on our rating (and we've had no problems since).
