It's such a gorgeous day, but this morning I have been cleaning the oven, I couldn't put it off any longer

I have the whole house to clean and empty the bag from the weekend when we were away. Also DH is being very moody but won't tell me what the problem is.

Hulababy · 26/04/2004 12:26

Raining here now Having a day in anyway. DD has decided she wants a go at using the potty this morning so been doing that.

LipstickMum · 26/04/2004 12:28

I think I would prefer dealing with my oven than a moody dh, at least I can sing a long to the radio while I work!

Bit limited today as dd has sore foot which has put potty training off the agenda atm. Made dr appointment for foot. She had a little friend over this am and then perked up. Cancelled dr appointment for said foot. Now need to tidy up for flat viewing at 6 pm and hope dh makes it home in time.

Hulababy · 26/04/2004 13:13

And just realised I have still got 2 more lessons to prepare for tomorrow - so best get planning!

Lipstickmum,I inadvertently made a horrible job for myself this morning.

I foolishly left dd on her changing mat without a nappy on whilst I nipped upstairs.Came back downstairs to discover that she'd done the hugest, stickiest poo & managed to roll it all into the carpet & all over herself, before skilfully manouvering herself back onto the changing mat.It took ages to bath & change her & try to clean it up.

I have cream carpets too! (or HAD cream carpets)

Not so much a worse day as a worse night. Ds twins go to bed at 7, half hour later ds twin1 wakes up crying. He had done a poo. He had stuck his hand down the back of his nappy. It was not a pretty sight or smell!

Luckily only his bottom sheet was, ahem, marked as he wiped most of it on his jammies (lovely!) so it was a quick change of everything! He then became understandably upset and took another hour to calm down. Ds twin2, as usual, slept through it all (I wish I had his sleep ability!) Why is it these things only happen when DH is working the later shift (until 11pm.)

carla · 26/04/2004 21:40

Because motherhood is a breeze, as you know, Paula71!!!

JennH · 26/04/2004 21:43

I cleaned up a strangers vomit and washed 3 people. Beat that

Soulfly · 26/04/2004 21:43

I have been doing much the same thing lipstickmum, I blitzed my front room and intentions of doing the whole house, but i never got it all done and when the kids went to bed that was it, i couldn't motivate myself to do anymore and ended up on the computer.

lou33 · 26/04/2004 21:49

I cleaned poo from all between ds2's bum and thighs, and his highchair. He is being potty trained, therefore naked from the waist down. We were having a lovely meal , when he let rip in the wind department, or so I thought. Strangely dh lost his appetite.

Ds1 seems to have a squitty bum too, and have been mopping him up on his visits to the loo.

LipstickMum · 27/04/2004 09:16

Oven took me a protracted 4 hours to clean, but I see it wasn't the worst job ob the agenda. Sorry to all those who really did have worse things to do than me Sounds like there was an awful lot of poo around today! To round off the day, dd pulled over the very full bucket of nappy soaking water all over herself and the carpet. Litres and litres of water everywhere. I had emptied it earlier in the day and it wasn't full of wee and poo and nappies! Thank god for small mercies

Mine is tame in comparison. Took DS1 and 2 to the park, DS2 did a poo in his nappy, tried to change it with him standing up, huge poo fell out nappy into the bark that covers this particular park, had to pick up poo, now covered in little bits of bark and wrap it back in the nappy to take home (Tots Bots so I will have to encounter it again so I can wash the nappy). DS2 then fell on bum before I could put clean nappy on him and his bum was nicely encrusted with bark!
