Hi YG, if I can share...
I recently went for one of my very rare 'taking care of my face' sessions and the facial scrub had mould in it. I think I bought it when I was at University (am now 35 ). Also, my face powder was a hand-me-down from my older sister when she was about 15. Maybe I need to follow this thread...

People have recommended this before on here - although it's described as a foundation, it really is very light. I tried some on and decided it was a bit too light (coverage-wise) for me, so have gone for this , which has a bit more coverage, and is a bit more matte finish. Liking it so far (though only bought it at the weekend).

hey yg glad you are feeeling up to make up

you have dry skin?

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 26/10/2006 22:19

Oh yes, and bought some other stuff in Boots just before buying this, and they gave me a voucher for £5 off No 7 products, which made the foundation half price.

Some Clinique ones Isuperbalanced I think) are quite light but still feel nice.

have you got a big department store near you? you could go in and approach the least orange person you see at the make-up counters

I am totally crap with make-up and did this and they actually suggested some quite good stuff

Cappuccino · 27/10/2006 20:43

put my makeupo on this morning and realiasd I probably loked better with out it [sad}

I have something called no.7 stay perfect foundation (it's probably really old so you might need to check they still make it) - it is really really light. I don't often wear full make-up because my skin just hates it all.

re the eye stuff - just day to day, I do tend to put mascara and eye-liner on but I only bother with eye shadow (if at all) if I'm off out somewhere nice. I do quite like trying on lots of lippy because I still feel my perfect shade has yet to be discovered.

foxinsocks · 27/10/2006 20:50

maybe you could try someone in a bigger Boots store or at the Body Shop? they tend to be more approachable (but you may not have as big a choice of products)

foxinsocks · 27/10/2006 20:54

actually, you know what yorkie, I'm possibly the worst person possible to advise on make-up! Have just read my lippy bit back and realise it sounds quite pretentious ('my perfect shade' !) - I just find most lipstick is either too pink, too orange or too red for my liking!!

Cappuccino · 27/10/2006 20:55

I always wonder where to go too when the women are too orange

had bad experience a year ago with a woman (who I knew from a playgroup ) telling me that if I persisted with this shade I wanted (which wasn't orange) I would be 'Mrs Peaky Very Peaky'

xena · 27/10/2006 20:57

I think that the no7 intellingent (have had to much vino to check spelling) is the best and i'm a fairly anti make up person iykwim

lexielou · 27/10/2006 21:04

Boots No7 Radiant Glow foundation is really nice, and if there is a £5 voucher thingy on at the moment it will be almost half price... £6 instead of £12

Gillian76 · 27/10/2006 21:07

I know what you mean about the 'counter girls', YG. I always try to pick one I like the look of and body swerve the scariest looking ones.
