Hi There
I am a mother of 2 teenage children and a teenage counselllor (amongst other things!)
I am in the process of researching into the case of baby P and other similar cases where it was felt the public services failed to protect the child/young person.
My reason for doing this is partly due to my background and field of work, which has now led me to being committed to building a holistic service that will be available to families, organisations, public and private services.
My aim is to look at the failings and mistakes (without judgment or blame) that were made in such cases as baby P, Victoria Climbie and similar cases and to build on this in positive way by creating a service that ensures that these mistakes do not get repreated, In other words I want to find out all the pitfalls and mistakes that I can from previous instances - to ensure that these are not repeated in my service which I am determined will be rigourous and safe.
To do this I need to gain as much information as I can based on people's experiences of the services and how they have failed the child and what could have been done differently (whilst respecting privacy) to prevent the mistakes of the past from reoccurring. I will then collate this information and it will form the basis of my clinic/ service which will serve the children and young people.
If you have experienced a situation that you would be willing to share with me in my research to achieve this, please do get in touch with me.
Thank you
