New Baby - opinions please?? (First time poster)

Do you or would you let anyone other than you and your OH kiss your baby's face or lips? I have a newborn and don't feel comfortable with him being kissed on these parts until he's older. I have said that kissing on the top of the head is fine for now but I am curious of others opinions?

I don't mind face but not the lips.

Purely because my stupid cow of a MIL kissed DS when he was 6 weeks old when she was harbouring a cold sore

It's not anything I've ever thought about. I don't think id have a problem with it at all unless the person doing the kissing had a cold sore. I don't think any of my friends/family have tried to kiss DD on her lips but I'm sure they have kissed her on her face and it doesn't bother me at all.

Even you and DH shouldn't be kissing their lips. They're a newborn. Why would you pass on all your germs to them?!

Face - fine

Mouth - not fine (mostly because even gorgeous newborns can have a tendency to be a bit sicky)
