my 6 and 4 yr old are definitely too old for Cbeebies. They would rather watch Nick Jr or something like Scooby on Boomerang.

Mine think CBBC is rubbish. Luckily dd seems to hate Tracy Beaker (long may that continue!).

geekgrrl · 25/10/2006 10:46

it varies - 20 min on a good day, up to 3 hrs at weekends. average during the week is probably 1-2hrs per day.

tigertum · 25/10/2006 12:07

Most of the stuff on Cbeebies is such good quality. It's just the Zombie factor that worries me.DS (18 months) just stands/sits and staresat it - thats what makes me worry about how much he watches.

My 5 yr old still loves CBeebies - Numberjacks is a current favourite. 9 yr old will still watch some things on it!

puffling · 25/10/2006 18:59

DD is 7 months and I have it on virtually all day. Unfortunately, just as she's getting ratty, I switch it on and of course it's 'Our Planet' again!! She doesn't recognise this as baby telly and lets me know how annoyed she is. She adores Teletubbies and squeals when she sees Charlie and Lola's faces. She also loves the Boogie Beebies man or perhaps its the green and yellow dots behind him. Most of the time she ignores it and focusses on the tasks in hand.

Not much anymore... too busy re-winding blimming LazyTown! Sigh............

Morgan · 25/10/2006 19:19

AAHHH Lazytown - my ds is in the middle of a huge Sporticus craze at the mo and he spent about two hours on the Lazytown website the other day - he completey loves it (he is 5). We only have 7 episodes though as we are in Dubai and these were recorded for him. He used to love Charlie and Lola but now Lazytown has taken over. " Welcome to Lazytown"

none at home as don't have it - at Grandmas they sit glued to either cbeebies or CBBC- dpending on who's turn it is to choose. i do feel mean sometimes but we'd need an aerial not just a box so it bumps the price up.

izzybiz · 26/10/2006 17:08

My Dd would happily watch it all day if she could!
She is 2.5. Her faves are Something special, Charlie and Lola, and Doodle doo.
I do let her have it on quite a bit if we are at home, she doesnt sit glued to it really, she is usually playing and just checks every now and again that its still on.
When i turn it off i have to tell her Beebies is tired!

3andnomore · 26/10/2006 21:17

As lil as possible, but that is just because ys and ms prefer the Nick Jnr programmes or the Disney one for lil ones, lol....they watch far to much TV, well, or have it on as background anyway!

VermiciousKnid · 26/10/2006 21:17

shedloads

turn it off if he has catatonic look

Drusilla · 26/10/2006 21:18

No TV at all (said smugly)

BloodyTenaLady · 26/10/2006 21:19

Not much usually, I would say he has a good two days worth this half term week.

tortoiseshell · 26/10/2006 21:21

They either watch CBeebies or a DVD - about 1 hour a day, but sometimes less. I try not to let them watch more, but occasionally they will watch a bit more than that.

3andnomore · 26/10/2006 21:27

Wow Drusilla...no TV...at all in yoru house or just your Kids don't watch any...that is fantastic...

BloodyTenaLady · 26/10/2006 21:29

Whats the alternative to television then? Share the secret

ilovecaboose · 26/10/2006 21:34

If we're at home we have it on in the background. If not then he doesn't watch it.

It really depends.

Drusilla · 26/10/2006 21:40

We have a TV but I don't let DS watch it - mind you, he is only 18 months so I'm sure it will get harder! DH is in love with the TV and I HATE the way it turns him into a slack-jawed mong. It drives me mad. So the TV is only allowed on when DS is in bed!

VermiciousKnid · 26/10/2006 21:41

[frown] at mong drusilla

BloodyTenaLady · 26/10/2006 21:42

aha! not allowed to be smug when they are that age. Good luck for the future though

Drusilla · 26/10/2006 21:42

I'm sorry, I think that word has other meanings than the one I intended. Sorry if I offended anyone.

3andnomore · 26/10/2006 21:43

Drusilla, I think it's great, a cousin of mine is really strict with TV, and only lets her KIds watch 1/2 a day some Kids programme that is good and mellowing for bed, lol....and I know it's much better then having it on as a background....I suppose I should have enforced that from early on....

hotandbothered · 26/10/2006 21:44

Too much. a bit of a default setting at the mo. 'I want beebies!' but can usually be distracted. Dd loves Milkshake, which of course has ads, but peppa pig is a big favourite.

3andnomore · 26/10/2006 21:45

lol at BTL!
Oh and now I get the frown thing...that never occured to me, that connection,in our household we would say we are monging it, meaning lounging about, having a lazy day, and I assume that was what drusilla meant. I hope that monging it has not got any other non pc meaning or background to it!
