DT2 hates hates hates her winter coat because it is obviously bulky, she was the same last year, I thought she would get used to it but she did'nt, she does'nt have a tantrum )that I could cope with) she actually sobs and tried to take it off, and she quietly sobs the whole time she is wearing it, I have searched but cant find a coat that is warm but not bulky for the winter, she will be 3 in December.

Can you take her shopping and let her choose a new coat? I had the same problem with a pair of wellies for my dd nearly three- I couldn't work out why she hates them - so gave up in the end and let her choose a new pair. I vary rarely give in the her over clothes, but some things just aren't worth the tantrums. Maybe a light water proof coat with a scarf, hat, jumper underneath, should that be warm enough?

I could try that, but I dont think she will, she is not particular about other clothes, she just seems to hate coats, I did give her the first choice of the 2 coats I bought for dts, but she would'nt choice and refused to try them on.

Could you offer her the choice of thermal underwear or a coat? I know you feel you have to have a winter coat for children, but they really don't feel the cold the way we do. If she is so unhappy about wearing a coat, you could compromise on warmer clothes generally and then a warmish jacket.
