Gammon ham, oven cooked,
Mashed potatoes and mashed carrots, with onion and baked sausage, all in a giant yorkshire pudding with grated cheese on the top. Im undecided on wether ive done well enough on the healthy eating side. Contemplating ramming some fruit down DS's neck just in case..

It sounds ok, but I would ram fruit (bit lacking in vit C maybe)

robinpud · 20/10/2006 19:18

I think a green vegetable would be good for the vit C if you haven't already served it.. in which case, yes you need fruit!

Fairie · 20/10/2006 19:20

oh, this may sound silly but what else has vit c other than oranges? i feel dumb know

FrannyandZooey · 20/10/2006 19:22

Virtually any fruit or veg, Fairie

uncooked or lightly cooked is better

FrannyandZooey · 20/10/2006 19:23

"Citrus fruits (orange, lemon, grapefruit, lime), tomatoes, and potatoes are good common sources of vitamin C. Other foods that are good sources of vitamin C include papaya, broccoli, brussels sprouts, black currants, strawberries, cauliflower, spinach, cantaloupe, kiwifruit, cranberries and red peppers"

Mercy · 20/10/2006 19:35

Sound fine for young children - but not great for adults. Too high in saturated fat.

(says she who is meant to cutting down on such things but has failed miserably so far )

FrannyandZooey · 20/10/2006 19:39

Fairie in combination with the lunch box it sounds very good to me
