We had Harvest festival at DS school today and all were asked to bring in fruit/ produce to be sold off later that day. Up roll the Competitive Mums with their beautiful wicker baskets, whipped up cellophane and bows, the biggest, I am not kidding was about 4 foot tall. Laugh out loud! But my tin of Tomato soup and packet of hob nobs to shame. Do you know some in your school. I love to watch them.

Foul moon yours are close in age then, 2.8 yrs btn mine, do they get on? Mine are best pals, like two little bear cubs, on weekends they love to share a room and usually end up topping and tailing - cute. Sorry straying from topic now..vaguely competitve talk I suppose?!!!!!!

I think you'll find my boys are considerably cuter than yours

The 2.8 year gap is perfect for us (not intentional) as they are totally best buddies, into broadly the same stuff (though there are no guarantees!) and are at the same school so they look out for each other. Of course, some of of the time, they are each other's worst enemy and BOY are they competitive! (very scary for me as I'm really not competitive - except for scrabble )
You have to find ways of helping them pull together instead of killing each other. When they do that they are wonderful.

I had a distinctly un competitive mum though - no partaking in sports day - my bonnet never stood a chance etc. I don't think I will be a competitive mum when DS gets to school as such, but at the same time I think I will make a bit more of an effort of DS to save him the shame of being the worst dressed/hatted/prepared etc...
