Are you giving up the privately rented property or do you mean in addition?

If the rent on the newer house is more than the one you are in now then i'd suggest you get a rent pre determination done first and they will let you know then if they would pay it or not.

If the rent is the same or less then it should be fine.

Btw, I didnt mean additional benefit, I meant still claim for a property you are not living in but wish to keep on for whatever reason.

It is your rent and circumstances that they care about not where you are iyswim. Get the predetermination thing done, but it should all be fine.

ive moved3 times from private rental to private rental and all you have to do is fill in new housing forms for the new house.they dont care why you moved, just how much rent it is and what your income is etc.

whether you are at the end of your tenancy or not is between you and your landlord.the rent from the housing will stop going to your landlord on the date that you inform the housing that you are moving.

a pre tenancy determination is good but if the rent is around the same then i wouldnt worry too much.
good luck
