as a result of dh promotion, have less than two months to move from london to cheltenham with our six month old d. Any and all suggestions on playgroups, music groups and nurseries very welcome. also, was due to go back to work p/t in a couple of weeks - does anyone commute to london for work? is it a nightmare? Is the town child friendly? have never even been!!!!

Ruthandpolly, I live in Gloucester, which is only a few miles from Cheltenham. I think London is about 100 miles away and I don't know anybody who commutes. My dd is only 3 months old so I don't really know much about what's available locally yet (and would only know about GLoucester anyway!) but if there's anyhting you need info on I can probably get hold of it for you as i have a friend who lives there and has a ds- feel free to get in touch via contact another talker.

Like ks said, Cheltenham is lovely and the shops are excellent but like anywhere there are definitely some areas to avoid and other 'desirable' areas.
Hope the move goes well
