I can't believe what my sister has just done. It was my DS 2nd birthday a couple of weeks ago. Not only did she not have his present on his birthday (which is normal for her) but she got it a week later... then she sold it on Ebay and only admitted to it after I asked her if his present came from the catalogue yet. I had a feeling it was his present she had listed on Ebay but I gave her the benefit of doubt that maybe she oreded 2. Then she had the cheek to put the phone down on me because I told her not to bother to get him another present (seeing as his birthday was 2 weeks ago anyway!) Well its her birthday in May and bet you can guess what she is getting off me, nothing! GGRRRRRR

See that would definately p* me off too. No words of wisdom, just hugs and sympathy. I have a SIL like that, who makes no attempt to see my two dss. I think she is the one missing out.

happycat · 19/04/2004 18:44

you ought to find it and we can all email her and ask questions and we can all say I want to buy it for our dear newphews that we all love so dearly and don't deserve to go without a pressie.I would be mad too.She has no kids of her own I take it

Strange behaviour! Is she a compulsive buyer/seller?

kid · 19/04/2004 19:36

She has a ds (17 months) that she was meant to be taking to the doctors today, but she couldn't be bothered! The other little problem I've got is she is meant to be looking after my DS tomorrow while I go to work but tonight she put the phone down on me when I told her not to bother getting him a pressie. I didn't swear or shout I was too gobsmacked. But of course I'm in the wrong, I mean totally reasonable behaviour to sell a kids birthday present. Luckily tomorrow, if need be, my other sister will have DS

She has only gone and put another one (same as DS's 'supposed' present on Ebay. I've sent her an 'ask the seller a question' form asking her if she bought another one?! Just waiting for a reply now!

what was it then?

kid · 20/04/2004 16:27

it was a safety helmet, elbow and knee pads. She also got him a skateboard which she also sold. She did look after DS today but sent me a text saying she is working next week so she can't have him then. Looks like thats the last babysitting I do for her now! Already made other arrangements so I don't care anymore.

I can't get my head round the Idea that someone buys a birthday present then sells it on ebay

Weird

Flip · 20/04/2004 20:46

My BIL and SIL totally forgot ds1's birthday and didn't even send him a card. I was so annoyed! They have four children and I have never forgotten one of their kids and they always get a card and present. It was the same last year he didn't get a card or a present then either. But I'm to fair to stop buying for their kids even though there's so many!

suedonim · 20/04/2004 21:19

My brother sent ds1 a card when he was 2 or 3 yrs old. Ds1 is now 29 and there's never been another card, let alone present, for ds1 or any of my other children since then. I guess bro doesn't 'do' cards....
