And inside the box was a leaflet/card, the top bit said, in childs writing 'please help me' and the next page said 'I just dont want to be hit anymore'

talk about putting a dampener on something you were looking forward.

Was that NSPCC, wf? People have complained here about their recent marketing.

(And even if it wasn't them, complain to amazon about whoever it was. I hate this stuff )

waterfalls · 13/10/2006 22:35

Yes it was the NSPCC, I know they have to raise funds somehow, but we are all painfully aware of it, and dont need it unexpectantly shuffed in our faces like that.

not half as much as the child does

PretendFriend · 13/10/2006 22:37

Yes, granted, but the point of this kind of marketing is to raise money and if you piss people off they won't donate, will they?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 13/10/2006 22:38

Wonder how much this campaign has cost them?

Or the ad with the mum getting ready to scream at her son and being blocked by the call centre workers desks.

Gets the point across.

I usually don't ever notice anything else in my Amazon or Book People boxes as I rip them open and discard the box and any papery bits straight into the recycle bin so I can get reading!
