Do you hold anniversaries for EVERYTHING!

I mean, people who are just going out have an anniversary of when they met which I've never never understood! And then there's anniversaries of when they got engaged, anniversaries of when they slept together, anniversary of when they got a bloody dog together ffs!

Are we to see a new line in greetings cards that cover anniversaries for just about everything?

And yes you saddos who celebrate the day of when you first logged onto Mumsnet - I'm talking about YOU too!

I can't believe some people start threads about other people's threads marking such a solemn occasion!

Piss on my bonfire from a bit higher, Rhubarb, you've not quite put it out yet

ThomBat · 13/10/2006 19:49

What are you talking about?

Rhubarb · 13/10/2006 19:50

We used to remember our first date, which was also the date dh proposed (eight years later). But now we always forget. I think that's a bit sad.

I think it was because we were together so long before we got married.

Rhubarb · 13/10/2006 19:52

I think my brain forgets things like that to protect me.

harpsichordcarrion · 13/10/2006 19:55

I remember (and silently celebrate) the first night that dh and I Got Friendly.
and the day he proposed (Valentines Day so that's a bit of a cheat)
and yes I DO know my mumsnet anniversary. doesn't everyone?

hunkermunster · 13/10/2006 19:56

Only super-intelligent people, Harpsi.

Rhubarb · 13/10/2006 19:56

[shakes head sadly and leaves to open a can of booze to celebrate to the day the anniversary of first having a poo on big toilet all those 7 years ago!]

in fact iirc I started a thread on my mn anniversary
no-one mocked
I think I am scarier than you hunk

hulababy · 13/10/2006 19:58

I don't know the exact date I joined MN, just the month/year. I guess I could find out.

Celebrate/recognise wedding anniversary. And I do know other dates, but don't celebrate/recognise them out loud - date we started "going out", date we first , date we moved in together, date we got engaged (Christmas Day so easy!), etc.
