OOH nice to find u all, Im an aritste and Interior designer , still have a friend/clients house to finish. I do large canvases of abstract flowers and geometrics. Havent done any for a loong time , well about 7mths.

I have an 8 wk old so not sure when Ill get a chance now ,as have one painting started and 3 blank canvases. When dd was alittle younger and slept for 2hrs during the day I did some in my cubby hole studio and then in the evenings afetr bed time. Not so sure now when Ill be able to do it, Im up at all hrs during the night feeding, so any time free Im seeing to dd1 or eating!! I do have some new ideas though, will have to sketch a little to keep the ideas coming.

Yeah I think its good to keep doing something even if its any old rubbish. Because I have ground to such a halt i feel really rusty. I get an all or nothing mentality, that if I can't throw myself into it indulgently I'm not going to do anything so there! (cuts off nose to spite face)
Then my three year old starts drawing and colouring and I feel like grabbing her page off her so I can do some!!!
I love the doll too. I love her legs!

Rosy I the same. If I can't really get down to it then I just don't do it at all. But I look at my half finished canvases and get grumpy and petulant (sp?) with dp cos it's his fault.

I did a fine art degree and haven't done anything for years, i always thought when baby was born i would have plenty of time, how wrong was i, feel like i have no "me" time, but don't want to feel too selfish and self obsessed, anyway i never seem to make it up the stairs to the "art room" but did pick up a small sketch book the other day and made myself draw what i saw, ended up with a few rough sketches, but i was pleased , it got my mind working on that level again and conjured up ideas of stuff i want to try next, small book and a pencil pick it up when your're watching tv, no effort .involved.

I did painting at art school, then worked in theatre for some years pre family, and did murals, stuff for museums etc. Now want to do concentrate on illustration work when little DD's allow me more time. (Lucykate was it you whose DH lectures in illustration?)

It is really difficult to get the head space to do any work at the moment, let alone the real space. But I think art with kids is fun. Luckily.
