Code for texting Australia needed.. quite urgently please..

DH needs to text his friend in Aus. He was over here a few weeks ago and text us his Aus mob no (different SIM card) so we could contact him when he went back.. but DH been texting him n and off since last week and no reply. He got charged for the text so it clearly went somewhere.

The number he gave us did not have the country code (prefix?) so we got it out of the phone book.. but not sure it's right..

Hi...when text Aussies +61 then the state ie NSW 416 thuis : +61416 then their number. Hope that helps

his mobile no would start with 04rest of number right??

If so then you just text 614rest of number - dropping the 0.

Eidsvold and Bloss are right....follow what Bloss said but use the plus sign + before country code 61

Yes his number did start with 04, eidsvold, so have done exactly what you all said, put a +61 then the nine more digits.
