can anyone help. I'm hoping for a third child (currently have 2 1/2year old and 17 months), but do not want to drive a people carrier/mpv. Are there any cars which can comfortably take three car seats across the back? Ta

Fiat Multipla, Citroen Xsara are two that spring to mind immediately. And of course the Chelsea Tractors.

We've got a Zafira that takes 3 - it took a bit of finding 3 seats that would though. We can fit a Britax Babysure (Stage 0+), Britax Freeway (stage 1) and a Britax Hi Liner (Stage 2) for similar age gaps as you (dc3 is due Dec). It is an MPV in that it has 7 seats but the 2 rear seats fold into the floor of the boot - which is huge when they're down. When the seats are up there's just enough boot room for an umbrealla fold double buggy behind them. It's actually a great car if you've got 3 kids because you can always lift the back seats for extra people, rather than always having to take 2 cars. It's also not as big as a full on MPV and does pretty well in the reliability tests.

We used to easily fit 3 child/baby/toddler seats into our Astra but noone ever believes me.

If I had three I would have a honda fr-v, we had one on holiday, lovely!!! and really huge

our ford focus estate would fit three as long as they weren't too wide.

tonnes of boot space to which is nice

Our Renault Kangoo is great for 3 across the back, has lots of room and a huge separate boot. And they're cheap to buy and run.

We've got a Megane Scenic which fits three car seats (though we now only use two of them).

Scenic here too.

I have a Citroen Xsara Picasso, it easily fits 3 car seats!

We have A Fiat Multipla and it's brilliant!
