DH normally never shops until a few days before Christmas leaving me with a houseful of overexcited DC and then he comes home sweating and furious at how busy town is and how there is nothing left on the shelves! Often means you get a really good gift though as he has to spend more than he intended. Progress!

DH puts the lights on the trees, puts the cards up and carves the turkey. That's about it as far as his Christmas preparation goes. Oh, he usually decides to deep clean the oven on Christmas Eve, i.e. getting the doors and side panels off, but he's done it already this year. Yes, just before the biggest and messiest meal of the year! We don't bother with presents for each other, it's just too much hassle. You get like this as you get older.

I'm supposed to be dressing the tree at the moment, so I've put my YouTube Athos playlist on the TV to keep me company, and I'm just standing here watching it. And the head's come off my fecking angel.

Well, that went well.went to help with school event. Got there. Started coughig, felt like I was going to throw up, and came home again. and felt much better for being out of the school heating levels.

Inconvenient Cat's sister would like you to know she's every bit as inconvenient and also painful. Being light and nible she can launch herself at your lap from 2m away and dig in her claws on landing to ensure she stops on your legs and doesn't soot off the other side. F*&!!! ouch.

Ds1 seems to be "on the verge" of coming down with something...it's odd...I always seem to know when he is going to be ill. He gets very pale and tired looking.
His voice was quite croaky this morning could be puberty of course

Have been Xmas shopping after work & had Fuckwit Rage but it was alleviated by TWO SWS The first one was in Primark at a Team Santa bobble hat which I soooooooo wanted to rock up in next Fri if I could have un-knitted the A into an I. The second was when I was doing something wench-related in a shop & We Will Rock You came on the radio & I could pinpoint the exact moment Aramis kicks the door in .

Off out now to choose Christmas trees! But will be back big time for The Trailer Countdown later. It may call for Prosecco.

Well that was the quickest & most stress-free Xmas tree selection ever! Pickes the biggest, found out it was £15 less than we paid last year, shoved all 9 ft of it into car with 2 kids...bingo!

It's now stuck in car til DH gets home cos there's no way any one can budge it. That's his Christmas contribution, putting the tree in its stand - until the day itself when he cooks the entire dinner. I have never cooked a roast in my life. He loves it.

Re Christmas pressies - he has been the saddo knocking on the windows of Liberty's at 6pm on Christmas Eve before to get them to open up again (they did)
