Explorer toolbar driving me insane

I have acquired an extra toolbar on my internet explorer. It is a kind of fake search engine which seems to read whatever is on the page you're looking at & point you to similar stuff (bad explanation). It suppresses my Google toolbar too. I can untick it in the toolbars menu, but it reappears every time I open a new window. I am a bit obsessed with getting rid of it, & have so far tried stopzilla, noadware, & spy sweeper. So I've got no spyware/adware/trojans on the pc, but this wretched toolbar just will not go. Techy help please!

I had something like this earlier in the week. What is the toolbar called? Mine was contextualsearch.com or something like that.

Managed to get rid of it. Let me know if it's the same and I'll dig out the instructions I used to zap it.

YES! That's it mumbojumbo. Thank you (that's the last time I try & download an mp3...).

Yep, it's the same (and I was trying to download an mp3 at the same time).

Bear with me while I find the solution!

Ok, here goes:

I did a search on google for contextualsearch.com and got a number of hits being hijacked by the search engine, when downloading mp3's.

I followed the link on this site: Amazing Techs and at the bottom of this forum entry is a link to a universal removal utility which did the trick
click here for universal removal utility .

This problem was a total nightmare - all I wanted to do was listen to an mp3 file and then spent the rest of the evening trying to get rid of the search engine!@!

HTH -
Good luck!
