I don't live in Windsor - about 7 miles away, what sort of info are you after?

tatcity · 14/04/2004 20:25

Playgroups, days out, schools, carpenters, plumbers, builders you name it! Will be new to the area so don't know anything really and is always useful to get local knowledge/recommendations! Thanks.

Sorry - not close enough to know about playgroups etc, and as for workmen...........we ship our old one up from Cornwall - need I say more

Blimey, they must be bad then!

How about nice picnic spots, and the surrounding countryside around there? I know its nice from driving round while house hunting, but wouldn't know where to start looking for nice pubs, walks etc.

Hi

Legoland is just outside Windsor. There is Windsor Great Park which is super for walks.

Windsor Royal Station has some nice places to eat - Bar Ha Ha is the old ticket office, but there are numerous places to choose from.

There is the castle of course, and it's lovely down by the river to feed the ducks.

Odds Farm Park, great for kids, is near Marlow - about 30 mins away.

Windsor Leisure Centre - click here

Childrens information service for Windsor will get you info on Toddler Groups and activities for little ones as well as childcare and nursery - click here

Typing this one handed! Will post some more in a while. HTH

Here you go - Windsor attractions

Bit further afield is Coral Reef, which is an indoor water park with pirate ship and wave machines - click here and The Look Out Discovery Centre: click here and locate Look Out on the Quick Find menu.

If you have a car it's well worth getting a season ticket for Thorpe park (gets you into Chessington too). There is a nice walk along the river at Shepperton Lock, a pub there too which is nice to sit outside in the summer. Windsor is lovely, and I shouldn't think you will get bored there

Yes great help thanks. What fountains of information you are!

I'll check the links out tomorrow thanks again.

We definitely won't get bored, we've so much work to do to the house we're buying anyway! The house is within walking distance of Windsor Great Park so can't wait for that.
