were - obviously.

DeckTheHorWithBallsAndWilly · 15/11/2014 13:32

While we're at it.... can anyone tell me exactly what is so important about keeping old ones?

Ego?

DeckTheHorWithBallsAndWilly · 15/11/2014 13:33

For anyone unclear because of name change ^ I am Hannah btw.

MrsPepperMintonCandyCane · 15/11/2014 13:37

Oh this is all so sad.

Oblomov · 15/11/2014 13:48

don't pick on madame Hannah, that's not on.
why do you assume it's ego? could be many things - people use MN in different ways for different things.

Oblomov · 15/11/2014 13:50

when was madame "voted in" ? Hmm there's no need for that.

DeckTheHorWithBallsAndWilly · 15/11/2014 13:52

Oblomov, Madame has a big enough gob to speak for herself. And there is no 'picking' going on. So why don't you just stay out of it.

DeckTheHorWithBallsAndWilly · 15/11/2014 13:54

And I asked the question about reasons for it to stay, with ego as a question.

So if you want to comment, why don't you answer the question instead.

Cinnamoncookie · 15/11/2014 13:55

Am trying to catch up, but I only got home from tour late last night, and need to organise my thoughts.

However just wanted to answer Hannah's most recent question, that a reason for keeping the threads or having them available somewhere is because they're bloody hilarious. A bit like MN Classics and keeling thrven years after they first existed.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/11/2014 13:56

Can we just stop with the slanging match?
For what it's worth, I don't really mind about the old posts going, but it is a shame because not that long ago everyone was re-reading night-ops and having hysterics and fits of happy nostalgia, and it was highly entertaining.
---------
Leaves to clean chicken shed, entertain DS, go out for the rest of the afternoon and evening , so shall catch you all tomorrow for rewatch if not before.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 15/11/2014 13:59

A bunfight? again Hmm

Cinnamoncookie · 15/11/2014 14:01

Oh, FFS, stupid phone. That last sentence should read,
"A bit like MN Classics, and keeping threads that are fun/heart-warming to read even years after they were posted"
I was then going to say, "There's been stuff on the threads that's involved real support and valuable advice for people, and other stuff (like the occasional links to Eurovision and Soccer Aid that I've been posting) that is comedy gold. My next archive link was going to be the time when Hannah and Malc (I think) were trying to post using the voice recognition on their phones. I have fond memories about crying with laughter on a train reading it.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 15/11/2014 14:02

carolina mouse someone's DP read the threads and wasn't happy about them so they had to go. That is the very short of it.

Oblomov · 15/11/2014 14:02

right
OK I will.
no its not ego on my part.
i am not witty. not funny or clever. what I write is generally pretty boring and rarely contains any smut.
I am not ashamed for dh or anyone else to read anything I have written .
mine is like a journal. diary of events.

for me personally, I don't THINK its ego.
or I don't think it is. I like having a MN history. I like being able to search and I have a very bad memory for what age ds1 was when things happened. so I can search back for a particular word and it tells me when a particular thing happened, in relation to his diagnosis.

Cinnamoncookie · 15/11/2014 14:06

And BTW, that's my reasoning for having threads available somewhere, and not me trying to say that the reasons for why they have to go are wrong, because that's not what I think.

Blargh, explaining very badly.

DeckTheHorWithBallsAndWilly · 15/11/2014 14:07

I agree Cinn, and I agree Helen, and I did used to feel the same. But not to the point that I care if they go now or not.

From my own point of view, I spent enough time on the present day threads that I don't see how I'd ever really have enough time to look at the old ones that often. Bar the occasional one posted for laughs.

I agree that they were hilarious though, and I will always treasure those memories, but life is short, I would rather being laying down new ones and laughing on those, than keep going over older threads.

Feelings/things have changed for some wenches, and for those of us, we're happy to see the back of them.

As I said up there though^ if they did stay, I would request to remove myself anyway. As would possibly one or two (or more?) other wenches, so I guess in that sense, some of them wouldn't quite read the same with holes all over the place anyway?

DeckTheHorWithBallsAndWilly · 15/11/2014 14:09

Why don't you just keep a diary/journal at home then Oblomov?

LetUsPrey · 15/11/2014 14:10

Yy, they were like MN Classics IMO.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 15/11/2014 14:10

So who's opening the next thread?

I've changed my mi d too, I don't want to go to OTBT. That would basically mean that one person who is not a poster bullied is out.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 15/11/2014 14:11

They should have been in Classics Grin

QueenAnneofAustriaSpain · 15/11/2014 14:12

Drink I already opened it. I can't link but LetUs did further down. It's still in here.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 15/11/2014 14:14

Off to find it.

NotEvenAnEnormouseStirred · 15/11/2014 14:17

Thanks drink

Christ on a bike. This is all so sad. I joined the tavern after lurking because I thought you were all witty, supportive, intelligent, if a little bonkers. I felt like I had found a MN community that felt like home.

Whether the past threads go or not, I hope that ethos stays and that all Wenches feel like they can come back to the tavern.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 15/11/2014 14:27
