Does anyone know anything about auctions ebay/normal ones?

My Gran is moving into a flat and wants me to help her sell my Grand dad's books as he passed away this year and she has no where to keep them/wants to raise money from them.

A day's googling and I've already found one of the ones she's given to me for sale at £375!

They are mainly art/nature related books.

Does anyone know what is the best way to sell books?

Totally un-mum related but you people are a savvy lot, so I thought I'd ask!

if you think they may be worth lots then take them to a specialist shop ad get them valued.
then either flog them to said shop
pop them on ebay with reserves
take tem to an auction

Ebay with reserves is an idea.

Pretty sure of value with the expensive one, I've found about 6 identical for sale all in similar condition at the £300-375 mark. One person I spoke to said the mark-up on rare books is 100-200% so was wondering how I could sell them at the biggest profit.

Just wondered if, as a rule of thumb, normal auctions are cheaper than Ebay. Only ever sold cheap things on it before.

I don't know. I know they charge you commission on what you sell, so I would imagine it's similar.
It really just depends on who sees the auction I suppose
