So I will pick you up around 5-ish on Friday? A good time for you to leave? Then we'll get in the car and put some very loud music on - suggestions appreciated, I'll drive you can work the I pod.

Over to other mumsnetters for Mother inferior's ultimate virtual weekend away...

I'd like to come and complain all the time

then you can gripe about me behind my back and it will be a good ice-breaker for you all

Enid · 03/10/2006 09:01

ah but we'd really feel a bit sorry for you so wouldn't add to the carefree vibe

hunkermunster · 03/10/2006 09:04

Oh, I'm in.

I shall sing renditions of Beegee songs (badly) and change the words to reflect the mood of the trip. Although if I'm singing, Tragedy should suffice...

MrsScareyFish · 03/10/2006 09:04

Enid · 03/10/2006 09:04

I vote we head for Old Compton Street and start at that fab Italian Cafe for coffee and cakes (to line the stomachs!), before hitting the bars in a trendy pub-crawl kind of way. Ending up at Camp Attack (at the Astoria) probably isn't everyone's cup of tea but a good old bop to cheesy 70's/80's stuff might be just the thing to shake the custard off?!

Then we'd need to crash at a hotel somewhere, have the full cooked breakfast in the morning before crawling back to the Italian Cafe for more coffee and cakes..!

(I miss London )

MrsScareyFish · 03/10/2006 09:09

Wait a second, where's the spa in all this?

Weekend away must include massage of your choice at the very least, preferably administered by fit, supple young man.

Dottydot · 03/10/2006 09:23

Yes, we could fit in the spa thing on the Sunday - just the thing after a night clubbing. (I'm pining now..!)

hunkermunster · 03/10/2006 09:24

Oh, yes, am definitely in for the department store trip with the hat-trying-on. That weak with crying laughter while other shoppers look on in a mixture of disgust and envy - marvellous!

Cappuccino · 03/10/2006 09:42

I don't want to go to no trendy bars

and I look stupid in hats

hunkermunster · 03/10/2006 09:44
bakedpotatooooowoooh · 03/10/2006 09:46

Will we be able to fit in a matinee showing of The Devil Wears Prada? With a big bag of Butterkist?

Anchovy · 03/10/2006 09:49

Oooh, let's have our eyebrows threaded while we are at it - its my new favourite thing (am currently trying to persuade Issymum and Bink to have it done). Makes you look 5 years younger and wide awake. Stings a bit, so we need to have had a few drinks beforehand as well as afterwards.

Agree that we need a bit of a singalong somewhere over the weekend...

MrsScareyFish · 03/10/2006 11:28

thin soho house may make me feel counryt nous ish so NO

bakedpotatooooowoooh · 03/10/2006 11:29
