I still haven't got very far with my wedding plans, but thought I should start looking for a dress. But I hate shopping (am I weird? ) so thought I'd get you lot to give me a head start.

I have a vague plan to have bridesmaids in flamenco-style dresses in all different colours. In fact one (adult) bridesmaid has already selected this dress for herself - kind of fits!

I need one other dress that complements that one (in another colour) for the other adult bridesmaid and a dress for me that won't be completely out-shone by either of them! (the little bridesmaids I can deal with)

Money no object for now as I may take some pictures to a dressmaker/attempt to make it myself (but simple would be good! ). Also I have very pale skin and mousy-but-highlighted hair, so advice on colour would be good too. And I need to be able to wear a bra!

So any ideas?

That dress looks lovely Senora. Could you not have a similar but longer one? And the other bridesmaid could have the same as this one (if it'll suit her) in another colour? You can get strapless bras.

It's so long since I wore anything off the shoulder like that though, www! Perhaps strapless bras have improved since then though (also it's ribbed, which would mean I couldn't make it and would add to the price of a made one?? )
But I think I should let her wear it, yes.

Also I have a slightly rubbish tattoo on my back that will attract teasing from my family...

Dress isn't available in another colour, which is why I thought maybe a different one.

Decisions, decisions.

I was just going to suggest looking at one of the American pattern sites for ideas, and I went to this one to get the link. Remarkably, when I hover my cursor over the Vogue bit I got a dress which I thought looked as though it would be perfect for you, in a similar-ish style to the bridesmaid's one but a bit more bride-y. Any good? Not very bra-friendly though

Thanks tamum. There's some browsing to be done on that site!

I don't get a picture when I hover on the vogue bit though, but do you mean the turquiose one on this page ?

If so, love the skirt, hate the rouched bit. Definately a place to start though! (and maybe I could make it myself after all).

Aargh, no it's not that one, how frustrating. I've just done a screen shot, I'll email it to you if that's OK!

What about this - it's got a wee bit of a flamenco feel to it - but you can still wear a bra!
