DTDs (5) are having swimming lessns at teh local pool with the swimlife programme.

I feel they cuold ake so much more progress if they had a bit more attention. They spend so much time standing at the edge of the pool while the other children are doing their thing.

I can really see the progress when I get time to take them at teh weekend but at the moment I can only do that about once a month.

I think I read somewhere (on MN?) that you can get 'private' 1-1 swimming lessons. Am I dreaming? If they exist how do I find a (good) instructor in my area?

Ask at the local pool 2plus. When my children were small the instructors that ran the class lessons also did 1-1 sessions too.

i picked up a leaflet in gym about private lessons from 'splash swimming school' with various programmes and one to one lessons offered - but only in private gyms i think. no web addresss but tel 07980 817997 or email: [email protected]
i suspect they'll be expensive which is why i haven't contacted them yet but i'm fed up of instructor at local authority pool spending half the lesson texting, chatting to other staff or wandering off altogether...

Can you book them onto an 'intensive' course during the school hols? We did this for ds, and found that they were very low in class number - ds was in a group of 4, but the class an hour beforehand was only 1 child.
He came on in leaps and bounds with having a 30 min every day for a week, and now he is in an after-school class and he is having to wait for the rest of the class to catch up....think I should have put him a level up.
