Hi MrsApronstrings, I have four too,

dd1 10
dd2 9

ds1 7
ds2 2

and yes, it is lovely to have them all around the table, my youngest is protesting about being in his high chair and wants to fill the 6th seat at the dining room table!

I'm always filling the washing machine/dryer and the pile of clothes to be ironed is just looking impossible now, but it can't be bothering me that much because I'm on here! .

I'm really enjoying my youngest because all my other children (that sounds like I've had 20 doesn't it!) are at school and I can concentrate on playing with him more, instead of when my first three were all tiny together and I didn't get to enjoy them quite so much!

swedishmum · 02/10/2006 09:44

Totally agree, Browny. I had 3 under 3 and now I'm really enjoying my toddler. With the others being that much older she's a real family baby, and while I'd never use them as free childcare it's nice to be able to cook dinner for eg and know she's safe and having fun.

Pollyanna · 02/10/2006 09:53

ds 7
dd1 5 (6 next week)
dd2 3
dd3 20 months

BROWNY · 02/10/2006 11:34

Swedishmum, know what you mean about the youngest being a 'family baby' and I agree with you about knowing that the little one is safe elsewhere in the house/garden when they have their older sisters and brother playing with him. I find that when my older children are being naughty and I'm getting stressed, seeing my ds2 do something really funny or he says something very cute, everyone cheers up and focuses on him and we all laugh!

Congratulations Buffythenappyslayer!! Only my age is stopping me from trying for number 5! Think I'm getting a bit too old for all the sleepless nights now .

juuule · 02/10/2006 12:12

Congrats, Buffy.

buffythenappyslayer · 02/10/2006 12:22

thanks juuule and browny!

got to admit,im not looking forward to more sleepless nights!dd3 has cf and still wakes up around 5-6 times a night for a boob.hoping to stop bf now and have told dh that the next one will be bottle fed and sleeping at his side of the bed!!

BROWNY · 02/10/2006 13:40

Buffy, I like your plan . The older I get, the more sleep I seem to need. Good luck with your pregnancy and I hope you have a lovely fast, easy birth!.

buffythenappyslayer · 02/10/2006 13:41

thanks browny!am hoping for a quickie aswell, last one was 22 hours!!

BROWNY · 02/10/2006 14:07

Buffy, ouch! I was very luck with my last ds2,he's two years old now. I went into hospital at 6am with contractions and had him with only gas and air to help, at 12 noon. For me, that was quick!

buffythenappyslayer · 02/10/2006 14:09

my first was my quickest, waters broke at 12.05 and he was born at 12.25!!

my labours seem to have got longer the more babies i have!!

BROWNY · 02/10/2006 21:29

Buffy, that wasn't quick, that was instant!!. Here's hoping this one is just as quick for you. When are you due?

Buffy, hope you aren't suffering too badly with morning sickness. Sorry about your m/c in April, I've got my fingers and toes crossed that everything will be fine for you. Will you have to do some re-organising of who sleeps in which bedroom?

This doesn't really count but a taxi driver once told me I was going to have four children. Two girls and two boys. Currently I only ds and don't really fancy spending the rest of my thirties pregnant (But he was insistent - not that he was offering to father these children, I should add).

buffythenappyslayer · 03/10/2006 17:09

BROWNY · 03/10/2006 23:37

Buffy, we've got a small three bedroom house and we've converted every space we had into living accommodation, the loft has been converted into a large bedroom shared by my two daughters and we've added a conservatory on to the back of the house for somewhere else to sit (to try and escape the endless cartoons and squabbling!). Our back garden is practically non-existent now, so we've paved our front garden and put a bench out there too! I hope you find yourselves a lovely new home which has enough space for your growing family, good luck .
