I wouldnt know per month but could say per year! About £100 for me, and lots more for kids.

WSM · 11/04/2004 13:07

I don't spend a lot at all. I would guess at around £150 a year, just on bits here and there. Oh for the days pre-SAHM (single and working) where I'd spend £300 per month and sod the rent !

150percent · 11/04/2004 13:17

For me it is around 2% of what comes in.

There was a thread a while ago about what needed to be bougth each year - I think that pph had a good answer to this one.

I used to spend loads... dh and I would go to paris for the weekend and not to look at the Eiffel! We both love to shop.
These days we can´t really afford to shop.. but I have my eye on afew selected items for summer. Must remain styley

No where near as much as i spend on the kids thats for sure.
Anyone else find that if they go out shopping specifically for clothes for them, that they come back empty handed ????

I just can't get back in to shopping for me.

Clayhead · 11/04/2004 14:36

Nutcraker - yes!!!

About £20 per month at the moment, mostly on shoes/underwear since bra size keeps changing with pregnancy/bf. Luckily we have a market stall which sells loads of ex Per Una stuff for £5 per item, it's keeping me sane at the moment.

maisystar · 11/04/2004 14:48

Yeah i do that too Nikcola. I will think nothing of buying the kids stuff from Gap and alike places, but when it comes to clothes for me, they are from Mark One or New Look mostly.

juniper68 · 11/04/2004 16:33

I spend no more than £100 a month. I use ebay too for clothes sometimes.

motherinferior · 11/04/2004 19:21

Ahem...I spend nothing for a bit, then splurge every four months and find I've come home minus £100 plus...

mummytojames · 11/04/2004 19:26

easy i spend £5 most fortnights i go down to our local market to get the fruit and veg in and go to the three for a fiver stall so it works out over all i spend close on fifty pound down the market a fortnight ten for f+v five for me about ten for dp and the rest for ds

Demented · 11/04/2004 20:00

As I mentioned on the other thread I have a £50 a month allowance which I am really pleased about although I now work for my DH who is self-employed so I suppose it has to have some perks.

Prior to this I spent virtually nothing on clothes so everything needs replacing but I am starting to see the benefits now, I actually have stuff to wear!

Flip · 11/04/2004 20:20

Hardly anything. But I go shopping all the time and come back with clothes for the boys and my dh. I can't remember the last thing I bought for myself it's that long ago.

eidsvold · 11/04/2004 20:24

very little - last time I spent some money it was £40 - on a skirt and two shirts for a wedding - before that - can't remember the last time I bought some clothes.

kiwisbird · 11/04/2004 20:44

prob 25 per month, I buy and sell on ebay too to save
