Whilst out today had this idea about having a Music Club on Mumsnet, so am just testing the water to see if anyone would be interested.

The wine club was set up so people could compare different wines, well how about discussing cd's etc you have, have bought..Sometimes you like a song but don't know if you'd like to buy the whols CD..

I'll start.."Pure" by Hayley Westenra is well worth buying, one song has been in the charts and the rest are just as good, really! If you like something to calm your spirits after the end of a day, or just fancy something different to pop/country/reggae/house or whatever you listen to...this is sooo nice, she has a really gorgeous voice and her songs read like her thoughts, and are so easy to listen to...Hope it creates interest as many cd's are out there and would love to hear people's thoughts on them!

Nice idea lavender. I am a mad cd buyer (yes another obsession of mine). I will list some of my favourites.

I have several in series or Body & soul cd's by union sqaure music. My favourites are "calm" & "sleep". There are several more , they are very soothing and good for getting off to sleep relaxed.

I also love Diana Kralls cd "The look of love", its very husky and drifty sounding versions of old songs.

Hi, does anybody have advice for me? I write gentle songs for kids and people tend to like them. Yet, my songs have never been published or professionally performed. I've sent my music to numerous publishers and had more or less the same answers: we like your music but we only publish in-house composers. Can anyone help?
I'm also looking for a collaborator tp write lyrics for some of my melodies or create songs together.
