hangers - can I recycle them?

I have 2 large carrier bags full of hangers. Plastic ones and wire ones mainly. What can I do with them, does anyone know?

take them to the charity shop .

You could offer them on your local freecycle. People do seem to want them at least where I live they do!

what's a local freecycle Riddo?
My local charity shop said they didn't want them when I asked the other day. If they had clothes hanging from them, great. But not just hangers.
