How long do funerals last?

Attending funeral on thursday.

Its at 1.30, but I have to leave by 3pm to pick up ds (have no one to take him after this).

Its for the dad of someone I haven't seen for a long time - see here for full story and don't want her to think I'm rushing off, but really cannot stay any longer.

Just want an idea of how long they usually last, as I would like to at least show my face at the wake, and get a chance to talk to her and find out how she is coping.

20-30 mins... is it a religious one?

it all depends what kind of funeral it is. if it's a service at the crematorium then 30 mins or so. but if it's a full requiem mass then your'e taling at least an hour and half.

Not sure - could be either at church or cremetorium. If friends mum has breakdown at service, might take longer (is good chance of this - she hasn't yet comprehended what has happened - friend thinks this is likely to happen at funeral) for them

Might talk to dp's mum tomorrow and see if any chance she can collect him. This is unlikely though. Christ - don't want to have to dash off as don't want to upset them. I want to be there to offer support and to pay my respects to a good man.
